The Wine Taste and Smell map shows you what you can expect from the wine. The further a smell or taste is from the center of the map, the more obvious it is within the wine itself.

Six days after the race I still wasn't feeling well. Maybe it was the multi-car pile-up I ran into, or maybe it was the Childress Vineyards Pinnacle Meritage Red Table Wine. The wine was soft and low on tannins. Hints of green fruit and green grass gave the earth toned flavors mild to medium complexity.

Overall the wine was a decent drink for lighter dishes, but it was far from special. The intensity of the wine was rather dull and just a taste of cranberry lingered on my palette through the finish. The wine was a decent option, but the price made it less than ideal, especially when a similar Pinot Noir or Merlot wine would accomplish the same goal and save a couple bucks.

Lord knows I needed to save a few bucks. My Porsche was fast that day, but I had recently invested in a new down pipe and exhaust system that was made from aluminum. It saved some weight and added a few more horses, but it required a fifth place finish or better to guarantee sponsor reimbursement.

Wine was the last thing from my mind, when I rounded the fourth turn at over 80mph. My ceramic breaks were at least as good as anyone's in the field, but the Ferrari F430 GT had found trouble. Within a moment, the prancing horse had bounced the curb, lost control of his rear, and bashed into my front right panel.

I fought the Porsche epically as I slid over the curb on the other side of the track, but it was too late as the Ferrari spun into a fellow Porsche at full force.

Three of the top five racers were out just like that. Pulled like a cork from a bottle of red wine, we were pulled out of the race. Unfortunately my sponsor guarantee was up with the tire smoke. It was unfortunate, but I knew I was unable to support the team without going into the red.

For days after the race, my blackberry was shut off, and I was unreachable. The Meritage red wine I had the night before was average, and it dried me out to no end. Unfortunately, I this wine failed to lift my spirits, and therefore does not receive a glowing report.
